Division Director, Product Engineering
This key role is responsible for all product and technology engineering for the Family History Department. Family History is undergoing a fundamental and comprehensive shift in the way product, information, and support services are delivered to the ordinary member of the Church. The seasoned technical experience required for this position is as challenging as any leadership role in the industry.
Background and Qualifying Criteria
Technology Diversity: The diversity of the technology used in the Family History Department demands an executive with simultaneously deep and broad technology experience. Such experience is usually gained through different roles in various companies. For example, the candidate may have developed compelling user interfaces in one role, worked on system concurrency in another position, and locking and networking software in still another.
Product Delivery: The successful candidate is an accomplished software executive with a track record of successful large-scale product and system deliveries in various product and technology segments.
Learning Agility: The ideal candidate demonstrates an intuitive understanding of technology and an aptitude and agility for learning and absorbing new technology as the industry evolves.
Management Experience: The candidate has led numerous organizations of significant size and complexity as the primary executive responsible for market delivery of the products that compose the business of the company.
Membership: Any candidate must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, worthy of holding a temple recommend.
Senior Storage Engineer
Basic Qualifications
Must possess five or more years in Designing, Building, and Supporting Enterprise Class SAN/Storage infrastructures.
Senior IT Architect
Basic Qualifications
Must possess ten or more years experience in Information Technology.
Preferred Experience
The scale of the FamilySearch infrastructure assume millions of users and terabytes of structured information and tens of petabytes of image data and thousands of servers. For these reasons the desired candidate should several years of experience architecting and building infrastructures that include:
· Enterprise class large SMP Servers (e.g. Sun M9000 or larger)
· Enterprise class Databases with more than 4TB of synchronized storage handling thousands of transactions per second
· 5000+ slot tape libraries
· Multiple petabyte Enterprise Storage Arrays (Hitachi, EMC, DDN)
· Multi-switch, 1000+ port SAN fabrics
· 10 GbE LAN infrastructure design
· High Performance Computing class clusters of 500+ nodes
